HÖRMANN Infiltration Test Bench

EXTENDING THE KNOWLEDGE OF THERMAL TRANSFER IN building enCLOSURES

Hörmann, leading European door manufacturer, in collaboration with the European federation EDSF, asked us to design a test bench and carry out a complete test program for the in-depth study and modeling of air infiltration phenomena through gaps and openings of building enclosures.

To do so, we designed an innovative equipment with 44 sensors for measuring the distribution of parameters such as speed, temperature and air flow pressure.

The equipment was installed in the Hörmann climate test facilities in Germany, where we carried out tests that have allowed characterizing and modeling the thermal exchange, expanding and deepening the necessary knowledge for the construction of more efficient and sustainable buildings.

The results have been summarized in a technical paper made available to the sector and the scientific community.
